At some point booting up is almost frozen. I took a look at console level to see what is going on and there are 6 steps of loading installation system -- each step is 1KB (yes, 1024 bytes) and it takes a bit to load it and even more to wait after 100% of loading is shown -- my guess is there is some uncompressing, but how long can it take to uncompress 1KB chunk of data? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Normally the network CD installation disc contains installer. Now, you are saying that installer (?) is also downloaded on-fly? So what exactly is on the disc? So normally running installer is very fast, _installing_ is slow. In case of opensuse network CD both running installer and installing is slow. The installer is downloaded from the repo location. Never mind the 'invalid'; it just means I see no bug here. Besides, I don't think the installer is slow.
