https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=391868 User jstaerk@usegroup.de added comment https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=391868#c284980 Summary: officebean missing Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: OpenOffice.org AssignedTo: eward@novell.com ReportedBy: jstaerk@usegroup.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Maybe related to package rework (Bug #284980)(?) the officebean seems to be missing in OpenSuSE 11 Beta 2. It used to provide e.g. program/classes/officebean.jar and shipped in a rpm named OpenOffice.org_officebean. This package seems not to exist any more(?). The files are required by all Java applications embedding or otherwise utilizing openoffice. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I am not sure how many users would need it for their 3rd party applications. I think that there are not too many.
You're probably right, on the other hand I'd like to remark that we're speaking about 92kb which would AFAIK make the OpenOffice.org installation complete (as you indicate no other ooo.o packages are only on the network source?). Eric: I tried to install it but (due to my beta2?) it gave me some unresolved dependencies... I would assume it runs with --force but somehow this seems strange to me, is it possible that the OOO.o officebean depends on modules in a more recent version that actually available on the DVD? Does the officebean network installation run on your machines without problem? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

we have like 20.000 packages only 92Kb and not being on the DVD and I like to have it this way :)
But the FTP repository is autoenabled during installation, so it's just a yast2 -i call
that's OK, at least this way I can just ask the people to install the openoffice bean package, otherwise I would have to say "install the openoffice bean package, if you're using suse you first have to use zypper xyz to find the package when you're looking for it" -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
