However, after each logout, the monitors seem to loose their configuration settings completely: on next login, they don't remember command, label, monitoring period, nor font. I can reproduce this effect both on machines where the referred scripts are on the hard disk and on work stations where $HOME (with the scripts referred to) is mounted via NFS. The output of your for-loop now told me that I had indeed multiple genmons in my panel ;). That the information is retained is also confirmed by the output of the for-loop: #cat genmon_running.txt /home/taroth/.config/xfce4/panel/genmon-10.rc: Command=/home/taroth/bin/clementine_cover.sh UseLabel=1 Text=.
