https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=841021 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=841021#c0 Summary: Dual Monitor Suse 12.3 KDE: Configure Desktop > Display & Monitor > Size Orientation -System Setting Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: Final Platform: 64bit OS/Version: openSUSE 12.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: plank@ieee.org QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:20.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/20.0 Installed Open Suse 12.3, KDE 4.8.5 release 2, encrypted LVM option, did change default partition sizes. Monitor Laptop 1440 x 900, External Monitor (EM)1920 x 1200. When adjusting the default size of the EM from 1440 to 900 to 1920 x 1200 screen anomalies on far 1/3 side of the EM was present; however, ksnapshot of window did have correct display of window of how it should of been, but desktop view had "clipping". Wiped Drive, re-installed Suse 12.3, even worse results even more anomalies on re-sizing; but different than first install. No problem like this with version 11.2, 11.4, or 12.2. Note the default monitor size there were not any "distortions" of the windows on the EM. Both Monitor were at 1440 x 900. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install 12.3, Configure Desktop > Display & Monitor > Size Orientation -System Setting, set External Monitor to 1920 x 1200 resolution. 2. Wipe Drive, Reinstall 3. Configure Desktop > Display & Monitor > Size Orientation -System Setting set Monitor to 1920 x 1200 resolution. Even worse results; but, not identical. Expected Results: No Distortions and or anomalies in Windows on External Monitor when set at 1920 x 1200 On the first install, after the External monitor was re-sized to 1920 x 1200, and reconfigured from the clone mode to the left or right of the 1st monitor. When a application window, i.e., Ksnapshot window (or others windows) moved into the right most 1/3 (about) of the EM, the title bar of the window, and lower bar was "clipped". Note when I attempted to take a snapshot of this "clipping", Ksnapshot did not duplicate what was on the display, it showed what should of been on the display. Moving the window back to the left side, the clipping reduced the clipping, if no part of the window was on the far right 1/3 of EM, no clipping, clipping only occurs when window in on far right 1/3 of monitor. Wipe Drive, Re-installed, even worst problems; not identical to above. Was "upgrading from 11.2", basically tested 11.4, and then 12.2 neither of these version had this problem. Therefore, since 12.2 version works, Severity, of problem is Normal or lower. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
