I placed kicker 3.5.8 for a try on the right side of my screen on sunday. I did
not like it there and so I moved it back to the top on the same day.

Now it seems that a software component (KWin?) thinks sometimes that the KDE
panel is still on the previous position. A stripe of the main application
window that is in the front is not correctly drawn. GUI contents from other
applications behind the current window are displayed with a darkening effect.
