In SuSE 10.2RC1 x86_64 sax2 discovers configuration correctly as reported by some lines of hwinfo --monitor: 31: None 00.0: 10002 LCD Monitor [Created at monitor.93] Unique ID: rdCR.TXuwCXVLBM9 Hardware Class: monitor Model: "DD284 154W02 LCD Monitor" Vendor: LPL "DD284 154W02" Device: eisa 0x0000 Resolution: 1680x1050@60Hz Size: 331x207 mm Detailed Timings: Resolution: 1680x1050 Horizontal: 1680 1728 1760 1840 (+48 +80 +160) -hsync Vertical: 1050 1052 1074 1080 (+2 +24 +30) -vsync Frequencies: 119.23 MHz, 64.80 kHz, 60.00 Hz Config Status: cfg=new, avail=yes, need=no, active=unknown 32: None 00.2: 10002 LCD Monitor [Created at monitor.93] Unique ID: aHB6.TXuwCXVLBM9 Hardware Class: monitor Model: "DD284 154W02 LCD Monitor" Vendor: LPL "DD284 154W02" Device: eisa 0x0000 Resolution: 1680x1050@60Hz Size: 331x207 mm Detailed Timings: Resolution: 1680x1050 Horizontal: 1680 1728 1760 1840 (+48 +80 +160) -hsync Vertical: 1050 1052 1074 1080 (+2 +24 +30) -vsync Frequencies: 119.23 MHz, 64.80 kHz, 60.00 Hz Config Status: cfg=new, avail=yes, need=no, active=unknown but finally set resolution is reported as 1280x1024 in sax2 test mode. According to similar Bug 223745 I set the following line: VIDEOBIOS_PARAMETERS="30 1680 1050 24" in /etc/sysconfig/videobios file. After reboot I got native 1680x1050 display resolution. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=224528 ------- Comment #5 from reitenbach@rapideye.de 2006-12-14 00:00 MST ------- ok, I'll try the 915 resolution tool, but I am still wondering why I did not needed it for the SuSE 10.1, there it just worked with the 1680x1050 resolution. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=224528 ------- Comment #6 from sndirsch@novell.com 2006-12-14 02:19 MST ------- On SUSE 10.1 855resolution (predecessor of 915resolution) was used by default, which has been changed for 10.2 since this resulted into problems on some machines. The other reason was that we've been told by the Mobile devices team that there are no longer any Notebook VideoBIOS available, which do not support the native resolution of the internal display. Obviously this information turned out to be wrong. :-( -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
