This is just a guess, but there might be a commit (related to EC?) that totally confuses deeper BIOS parts... Your laptop should be the last choice..., mobile team should have some DELLs in the mobile team. Maybe Frank can do a bisect if you find one showing one of the weird recent DELL behaviours. We now have: Here a list of DELL bugs, that might be related and may come from confused BIOS...: - Throttling to 25% performance activated at 60 degree C (no bug yet, Model: Dell 600 -> without garuantee, Adrian, pls scream if it's a different model) - Laptop is only booting (discovering disk) when battery is not plugged in (Dell XPS M170) (this one) - Bug 264077 - CPU frequency scaling stuck at lowest freq, info seem to come directly from a SMI BIOS call (Model unknown - Bios Version D05) - Bug 207906 - Dell E1405 locks up when power cord is plugged in or removed (a rather old one...) Stefan, will you have an eye on this, pls. The other one probably not? Could people who still have problems pls retest with latest 11.0 Alpha version. Now we can still fix things, as soon as we enter late Beta phase or the product is released, it's too late. As the problem seem to be at least partly resolved I am going to close this with fixed.
