[Bug 859746] New: fanotify manpages out of date
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=859746 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=859746#c0 Summary: fanotify manpages out of date Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Documentation AssignedTo: ke@suse.com ReportedBy: abtalerico@gmail.com QAContact: ke@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:26.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/26.0 Hello, I was playing around with inotify and fanotify when I noticed that the manual pages for the kernel's fanotify interface are out of date. The manual pages lists the definitions: int fanotify_init(unsigned int flags, unsigned int event_f_flags, int priority); int fanotify_mark(int fanotify_fd, unsigned int flags, int dfd, const char *pathname, u64 mask, u64 ignored_mask); When their current ones are actually: int fanotify_init (unsigned int __flags, unsigned int __event_f_flags) int fanotify_mark (int __fanotify_fd, unsigned int __flags, uint64_t __mask, int __dfd, const char *__pathname) Not a huge deal but I thought it added a bit more confusion than necessary to using the syscalls on openSUSE. The syscalls were changed to their current form as long ago as 2009 by my reading of syscall.h's history. Someone appears to be maintaining an updated version of fanotify manpages here: http://git.xypron.de/?p=fanotify-manpages.git Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
