https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=840829 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=840829#c0 Summary: cpugraph causes 7-8% CPU usage for X Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: openSUSE 12.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Xfce AssignedTo: bnc-team-xfce@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mpapis@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:23.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/23.0 using cpugraph in XFCE I noticed quite high constant usage of CPU for the X process (12%+ in top), after removing the plugin it dropped to about 6% - the other plugins like Sensor, DateTime, Notes do not cause the CPU% usage for X to change that much. I have changed the interval to 1 second (at least it's described as such),
Did it have any effect on cpu usage?
here are my settings:
UpdateInterval=3 TimeScale=0 Size=16 Mode=0 Frame=1 Border=1 Bars=1 TrackedCore=0 Command=xfce4-taskmanager InTerminal=0 StartupNotification=1 ColorMode=0 Foreground1=#0000ffff0000 Foreground2=#ffff00000000 Foreground3=#00000000ffff Background=#ffffffffffff BarsColor=#4b4b69698383
Thanks, I'll triage with that again.
I could not see cpugraph in xrestop - there was a lot of <unknown> processes with no pid so I could not identify which one represented cpugraph, instead I will attach relevant part of my `ps auxf`.
Use pgrep -fl cpugraph to get the pid which you can then look up in xrestop output. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
