Special hints: - after deactivating APIC in BIOS, the installion- window shows much more detail in background: those little x-mas-lemmings I saw not before. - this was the first time, SuSE Linux failed installation: 8.x,9.x,10.1 had worked fine with the same hardware, only exception the ethernet-adapter described below. Was there a kernel log oops message that would help us out here? Without some kind of hints, this is going to be pretty hard to debug :)
Sorry don't know about... Where should I find this kind of logfile? In case of problem I only see a black screen hangin' around... :-) Can I make such logfile in activating APIC-Option? Last message is NET: Registered protocol family 2 _ and the system hangs up May be there is any relation to "lowcost ethernet-card 10/100/1000 with RTL-8169" I described above? If yes, wtf is any relation between this card and the APIC-option in BIOS? Is this some special kind of IRQ-sharing?
