[Bug 283166] New: artsd crashes with missing libs
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=283166 Summary: artsd crashes with missing libs Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: kai@kaishome.de QAContact: qa@suse.de I am using the following KDE3 repositories: http://software.opensuse.org/download/KDE:/Community/openSUSE_10.2/ http://software.opensuse.org/download/KDE:/Backports/openSUSE_10.2/ http://software.opensuse.org/download/KDE:/Playground/openSUSE_10.2/ Since one of the last upgrades, artsd crashes everytime a sound event should occur. The crash handler shows the following backtrace, which seems not very useful: Using host libthread_db library "/lib/libthread_db.so.1". [Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled] [New Thread -1217173280 (LWP 5325)] 0xffffe410 in ?? () #0 0xffffe410 in ?? () #1 0xbfd47e08 in ?? () #2 0x00000000 in ?? () However, if I start artsd on the command line, it shows the following: loading extension from '/opt/kde3/lib/libartsmidi.so' failed: /opt/kde3/lib/libartsmidi.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory MCOP ObjectManager: Could not load extension libartsmidi.la. MCOP ObjectManager: can't find implementation for Arts::MidiManager. loading extension from '/opt/kde3/lib/libartsbuilder.so' failed: /opt/kde3/lib/libartsbuilder.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory MCOP ObjectManager: Could not load extension libartsbuilder.la. MCOP ObjectManager: can't find implementation for Arts::ArtsBuilderLoader. Speicherzugriffsfehler If I symlink both libs manually (ldconf doesn't do it), artsd starts without lib errors but shows the following: unix_connect: can't connect to server (unix:/tmp/ksocket-kakra/arbeitsplatz1-1555-466e5949) There are already artsd objects registered, looking if they are active... .. cleaned 5 unused mcop global references. and crashes after a while. The backtrace remains the same in both cases. Lib files: 23 11. Jun 11:37 libartsbuilder.so.0 -> libartsbuilder.so.0.0.0 622428 8. Jun 15:25 libartsbuilder.so.0.0.0 20 11.
