So we seem to have still a regression for 32bit systems.
There's another bug report, bsc#1009246. Could you confirm whether you hit the same issue?
I'm on a 64-bit system. Wouldn't that rule it out being the same issue? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

What Takashi means is can you bisect the issue?
Search the web for "bisect the kernel" if you are unsure what it means.
So let me ask you: what is the last kernel which boots successfully on this machine? Can you upload dmesg and /proc/cpuinfo from it?
Thanks.
The only kernel i can boot is 4.7.4. I can't boot anything after at least 4.8.3. I've seen some examples of bisecting the kernels but it seems to differ on distributions. could you walk me through it? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Ok, let's start somewhere:
Can you boot 4.8.2? 4.8.1? Try those and find out which is the first version that fails. Say, if 4.8.1 boots and 4.8.2 doesn't, for example.
In any case, we need the two consecutive stable versions where version N works and version N+1 doesn't. Then we can bisect.
Also, your dmesg is truncated. Please boot with "log_buf_len=16M ignore_loglevel" and catch that dmesg immediately after booting is done.
That'll be all for now.
Thanks.
Booted with those parameters and uploaded dmesg. Where can I download those kernel versions? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Right, so you're going to have to build them yourself. Let me know whether you want to do that and I'll walk you through the process of checking out the stable git tree, checking out a tag and building a kernel. Alternatively, I have a similar CPU as yours and I can try to reproduce it here next year :) Thanks. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I just installed an ssd in my laptop and had to go with Arch Linux because I couldn't install the newest version of opensuse. But in the process of installing, I learned something that could be useful to you. First of all, neither the newest version of arch or opensuse could boot in uefi mode. Both of the iso's worked fine in CSM mode though. Also, opensuse coughed up an error message on the failed boots saying /efi/boot/x86-84-efi/linux.mod and /efi/boot/x86-84-efi/ls.mod weren't found. So I can no longer boot linux in general unless it's in csm mode. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
