[Bug 179702] HP nx9420 ACPI BIOS Bug, _PPC always returns 1 instead of 0
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=179702 ------- Comment #95 from agesen@cs.stanford.edu 2006-11-14 23:05 MST ------- I ran into overheating problems on my new xn6325 with suse 10.1, upgraded the bios (no help), inserted print statements into the acpi drivers and gradually started that there were several things going wrong. I then found patches and bugs on kernel.org. 2.6.19-rc5 has some of the patches. Applying one more patch got me over the problems with this rc5 kernel. Then I backported the patches to my 2.6.16.21-0.25 Suse 10.1 kernel. Things mostly work (with one glitch remaining -- sticky temp readings causing delayed fan on/off). Could someone let me know what might be the timeline when I might see the relevant patches in an online update to Suse 10.1? I'm also happy to switch to SLED10/SLES10 if this venue would give me relief sooner. Melt-down problems are rather important in my mind (should this really be a P5 bug?). Sincerely, Ole P.S. Can share patches against the 2.6.16.21-0.25 kernel if you wish. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
