[Bug 230188] New: USB component not correctly identified
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=230188 Summary: USB component not correctly identified Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: U.Koehler@gmx.de QAContact: qa@suse.de I installed openSuSE 10.2 on a i586 system using a Linksys Wireless USB adapter. That worked fine for 2 days. I then had to create another setup for the adapter using YaST to get it working for another 2 day. Yesterday I installed packages from http://download.opensuse.org/distribution/10.2/repo/oss/ (which might be unrelated) and the adapter is now not recognized anymore. After inserting the adapter I get: Dec 21 11:41:12 Rincewind kernel: usb 1-2: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 5 Dec 21 11:41:12 Rincewind kernel: usb 1-2: new device found, idVendor=077b, idProduct=2219 Dec 21 11:41:12 Rincewind kernel: usb 1-2: new device strings: Mfr=0, Product=0, SerialNumber=0 Dec 21 11:41:12 Rincewind kernel: usb 1-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice Since the device is not correctly unrecognized anymore, it is also not configured as a network adapter. As mentioned this did work in 10.2! Meanwhile I rebooted to my 10.0 partition, where the device works fine, ansd got the following kernel messages: Dec 21 09:12:58 Rincewind kernel: at76_usbdfu: module not supported by Novell, setting U taint flag.
