I just upgraded to the latest kernel (2.6.34.7-0.3) from the update repo for 11.3, and as a result unable to recompile the latest fglrx (catalyst 1.9) driver because the compat_alloc_user_space() symbol because GPL'd, moved to another header, and as a result fglrx is broken. I've downloaded and unzipped catalyst_10.9_linux_hotfix_sep27.zip, then generated the RPM for openSUSE using "./ati-driver-installer-8.771.2-x86.x86_64.run --buildpkg SuSE/SUSE113-AMD64", and finally attempted to install the resulting fglrx64_7_5_0_SUSE113-8.771.2-1.x86_64.rpm package.
Kernel module build failed because of use of an implicitly declared function COMPAT_ALLOC_USER_SPACE in kcl_ioctl.c.
So this "hotfix" is still broken.
Reason is that in %post of the created RPM /usr/bin/fglrx-kernel-build.sh is running and in this script make is being called, not make.sh. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

This sounds like an ATI issue (ati-driver-installer). Stefan, can this bug now be closed? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The issue has been fixed for the next fglrx driver release, which should be available in about 3-4 weeks.
This release is available meanwhile (Catalyst 10.10). Hence closing as fixed. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
