https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=326454 Summary: excessively large font Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: RC 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: chrubis@novell.com QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- I installed openSuSE on hp Compaq nx7300 notebook. Everything runs smoothly but after xdm started I wasn't able to login because input fields were too large to fit on the screen ( I just saw gray screen ). So I killed xmd and run xserver manually and observed that font was so big that one word was taking about half of the screen. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

*** Bug 327740 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Hi Stefan, Using smart package manager, I installed your patch (xorg-x11-server-7.2-141.i586.rpm) on both versions, Gnome and Kde, of RC1 live CD and all seems to be OK now! :-) Good work and thanks for the resolution of this problem. I hope the fix goes upstream because a number of other distros (Fedor 7, Pardus, Sidux, etc) I tested had the same bug. These are the changes (marked with "#") in xorg.conf that i noticed: Section "Monitor" # Option "CalcAlgorithm" "XServerPool" DisplaySize 330 210 HorizSync 30-62 Identifier "Monitor[0]" ModelName "LGPHILIPSLCD LCD MONITOR" Option "DPMS" VendorName "LPL" VertRefresh 43-60 UseModes "Modes[0]" EndSection Section "Screen" #DefaultDepth 24 SubSection "Display" Depth 15 #Modes "1280x800" "1024x768" "800x600" Section "Device" BoardName "915 GM" BusID "0:2:0" Driver "intel" Identifier "Device[0]" ##Option "monitor-LVDS" "Monitor[0]" VendorName "Intel" EndSection https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=327740 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
