[Bug 249673] New: libgcj : Conditional jump or move depends on uninitialised value(s)
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=249673 Summary: libgcj : Conditional jump or move depends on uninitialised value(s) Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 1 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Java AssignedTo: dbornkessel@novell.com ReportedBy: dcb314@hotmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de I just tried to build package antlr-bootstrap-2.7.6-41 with valgrind on Suse Linux 10.3 Alpha 1. I used command line valgrind -q --trace-children=yes rpmbuild -bc antlr-bootstrap.spec The output contains --8165-- DWARF2 CFI reader: unhandled CFI instruction 0:10 --8165-- DWARF2 CFI reader: unhandled CFI instruction 0:10 ==8165== Conditional jump or move depends on uninitialised value(s) ==8165== at 0x6587C46: GC_push_all_eager (in /usr/lib64/libgcj.so.7.0.0) ==8165== by 0x6590845: GC_with_callee_saves_pushed (in /usr/lib64/libgcj.so.7.0.0) ==8165== by 0x6589767: GC_push_roots (in /usr/lib64/libgcj.so.7.0.0) ==8165== by 0x65890A1: GC_mark_some (in /usr/lib64/libgcj.so.7.0.0) ==8165== by 0x65812A4: GC_stopped_mark (in /usr/lib64/libgcj.so.7.0.0) ==8165== by 0x65815AA: GC_try_to_collect_inner (in /usr/lib64/libgcj.so.7.0.0) ==8165== by 0x658AB7B: GC_init_inner (in /usr/lib64/libgcj.so.7.0.0) ==8165== by 0x658AD2D: GC_init (in /usr/lib64/libgcj.so.7.0.0) ==8165== by 0x65854ED: GC_init_gcj_malloc (in /usr/lib64/libgcj.so.7.0.0) ==8165== by 0x608361E: _Jv_InitGC() (in /usr/lib64/libgcj.so.7.0.0) ==8165== by 0x60470A2: _Jv_CreateJavaVM(_Jv_VMInitArgs*) (in /usr/lib64/libgcj.so.7.0.0) ==8165== by 0x60477FD: _Jv_RunMain(_Jv_VMInitArgs*, java::lang::Class*, char const*, int, char const**, bool) (in /usr/lib64/libgcj.so.7.0.0) ==8165== So it seems that there is a problem in routine GC_push_all_eager in libgcj. Given that especially this special uninitialized warning of valgrind might or might not point to an error. In this case it's in the conservative collector, which simply walks all word in a page and looks if it might contain a pointer. That alone already is bound to also check uninitialized values, so if no real error can be seen this looks like a false positive. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
