Could it be possible, that you've configured wrong network interface and the connected one is not configured (eth0, nVidia)? Please switch to use ifup first. You can do it in YaST2 ("yast2 lan"), in the "Global Options" Tab or by setting the variable NETWORKMANAGER="no" in /etc/sysconfig/network/config. Further, please set also DHCLIENT_DEBUG="yes" and DHCLIENT_BIN="" using "yast2 sysconfig" ("System, /etc/sysconfig Editor", Network/DHCP/DHCP client) or by editing the /etc/sysconfig/network/dhcp file.
