[Bug 349439] New: Mouse Indicator Window missing in xfig-3.2.5p25
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=349439 Summary: Mouse Indicator Window missing in xfig-3.2.5p25 Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X11 Applications AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ast@intes.de QAContact: sndirsch@novell.com Found By: Customer On the top right of the xfig main window there is a special area where the current context-sensitive mouse settings should be displayed. This help info is missing in xfig-3.2.5p25 that comes with openSUSE-10.3. However, it works with the older xfig-3.2.4 package from openSUSE-10.2 and it works with xfig-3.2.5 on Fedora and Ubuntu, so it must be a 10.3-specific issue. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

--- Comment #3 from Jose Goicolea
Yep ... found a not closed comment within my patch xfig.3.2.5-fixes.dif which makes xfig usable even if the window is resized by the user. Submitted the fixed version to the next openSuSE release (11.0)
I would like to insist on this bug which has been marked as fixed. Please excuse my lack of expertise in suse internals. How can one obtain this patch? (I believe it is not in the update rpm repository) In my opinion the problem is an important one, as it makes xfig extremely difficult to use, unless you know by heart each action in the GUI. If its is not going to be fixed until openSUSE 11.0, this means users of openSUSE 10.3 will not be able to use the new xfig for several months...
