Hi Nikolai, I reported this already (see Comment 4). Let's hope someone will fix this, soon. Until then, you can put a scriptlett into ~/.kde4/Autostart that looks as follows (and don't forget to make it executable):
Ah, thanks. I didn't noticed. Probably I didn't follow all of the duplicates. Right now this is not a problem for me because I still don't use 11.3 on everyday basis yet, but I hope the issue will be fixed before release :)

the resolution I depicted is arbitrary. Not nice, but working for now :-)
Take care
Dieter

Fixed upstream for 4.6.
I guess you are referring to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=183143 ? Do you think it would be possible to backport this for OS 11.3 (so KDE 4.4.X)? It's a real pain for dual-monitor setups. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The stable NVIDIA driver (295.xx) doesn't support RANDR >= 1.2 yet. They just added it to the beta driver (302.xx). So the situation is going to improve soon. :-)
IIRC a permanent configuration can be done by starting the nvidia-settings tool as user root, so it can write xorg.conf file.
It is almost impossible to configure monitors as root, since after you did the choice and click "apply", the monitors doesn't display correctly anymore. I tried to click "accept configuration", and then logged out, logged in again as root, the configuration isn't saved, both monitors display the same. Which xorg.conf file should be changed? /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-monitor.conf ? Can you attach an example please? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Which means that such a setup doesn't work with your graphics card.

Sure we don't want to save a non-working setup.

NVIDIA's Twinview configuration isn't that simple. Apparently you have a driver problem, which cannot be resolved via a configuration file. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
