[Bug 731553] New: /windows/C mount points seems obsolete
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=731553 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=731553#c0 Summary: /windows/C mount points seems obsolete Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: philippniehues@yahoo.de QAContact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686) AppleWebKit/535.8 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/17.0.922.0 Safari/535.8 SUSE/17.0.922.0 After installation of openSUSE 12.1 I wanted to access some files on the windows partition. That was possible, because of the mount point /windows/C in /etc/fstab. But when I tried to delete the used files, that was not possible, because the mount point was owned by root. I deleted the mount point in /etc/fstab and then it was mounted by Dolphin without any problems and as my user account, so I could finally delete my files. So the question to me is: Isn't the mount point obsolete? For me it seems to have only disadvantages... Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. install openSUSE dual-boot with default settings 2. start Dolphin and open your C partition 3. try to delete a file (you do not need anymore) additionally: 4. remove the line from /etc/fstab and reboot and try again Actual Results: no rights to remove, modify Expected Results: rights to remove, modify on the partition -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
