[Bug 331243] New: Matrox G450 not working with new mga driver
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=331243 Summary: Matrox G450 not working with new mga driver Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: 32bit OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: deckel@novell.com QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: IS&T Sax2 doesn't recognize my Matrox G450. Hardware worked with openSUSE 10.2 and xorg73 from buildservice until the mga driver upgrade from Sep. 29. Till then only one of the two heads worked. Same situation after the upgrade to 10.3. I'll attach xorg.conf. When setting "NoHal", second output shows the same content as first. Not setting "NoHal" leaves the second head dark. Xorg log for both variants is attached as well. I tried to reconfigure X with Sax2, but it doesn't recognize the Matrox card at all. It only configured the ATI Mach64 card which is also installed in the system. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Yes, that setup worked on 10.2 with xorg73 without problems. Sorry, wasn't aware of the *randr12 drivers. What do you mean by downgrade? Downgrading to the 10.3 version?
Yes. So plain openSUSE 10.3 version has the same problem. Bad.
I have just done this by reinstalling all RPMs with the 10.3 version which are in the xorg73 repo on the buildservice. Basically all xorg-x11 and some others. When starting X now I get a Backtrace in the log (attached).
Even worse. Could you give access to this machine? There seems to be something horribly messed up. :-( -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
