I played with xorg.conf Option "Accel" "On" (totem crashes) Option "Accel" "EXA" (totem works but fonts unreadable). Option "Accel" "Off" (totem works) The video is just and avi file from a point and shoot camera. I could make a small one and upload it. Is there a reference video avi file that can be used? I used simple-ccsm and enabled the effects (compiz is running). The xorg.conf changes (modification of the Accel options for 2d) was just from googling and playing around to try and get the video to work. It may be just a side effect then that when Accel is off then compiz (xgl/aiglx) doesn't start properly. Sorry for the confusion.
