https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=652292 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=652292#c0 Summary: Adjust patterns for current printer driver and PPDs RPMs Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Factory Platform: All OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Patterns AssignedTo: coolo@novell.com ReportedBy: jsmeix@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Development Blocker: --- Please adjust the patterns in openSUSE:Factory for current printer driver and PPDs packages. The cups-drivers package was a huge all-in-one package which contained several actually independent printer drivers and several sets of PPD files. The following printer driver packages have been split from the cups-drivers package: gutenprint: contains the Gutenprint driver and its matching PPDs cups-drivers-splix: contains the SpliX driver and its matching PPDs m2300w: contains the m2300w driver and its matching PPDs The remaining PPD files in the cups-drivers package were replaced by the OpenPrinting-PPDs package with its sub-packages OpenPrintingPPDs-ghostscript for PPDs which use Ghostscript built-in drivers requires "ghostscript-library" and "foomatic-filters" OpenPrintingPPDs-hpijs for PPDs which use the IJS driver /usr/bin/hpijs, requires "hplip-hpijs", "ghostscript-library", and "foomatic-filters" OpenPrintingPPDs-postscript for PPDs which may use only foomatic-rip but no driver software, requires "foomatic-filters" The OpenPrinting-PPDs package recommends all its sub-packages. The cups-drivers package is dropped in openSUSE:Factory. For background information see bug #514994 clean up cups-drivers and split separated drivers gutenprint, splix, m2300w bug #641704 Replace outdated cups-drivers by new OpenPrintingPPDs-* packages bug #642510 yast2-printer: Adapt "Driver Packages" dialog for current RPMs -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
