[Bug 618386] New: reconnecting USB mouse results in default acceleration
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=618386 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=618386#c0 Summary: reconnecting USB mouse results in default acceleration Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: RC 1 Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: pablo@blueoakdb.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2.4) Gecko/20100611 SUSE/3.6.4-6.1 Firefox/3.6.4 Howdy, I have a Logiitech USB mouse. When I reconnect it, the default acceleration is used rather than what I configured via KDE's `Personal Settings' application. Work-around =========== Either re-set using `Personal Settings' or the following can be done in a terminal window: 1) Determine current acceleration settings: % xset q | sed -n '/Pointer/,+1p' Pointer Control: acceleration: 200/10 threshold: 1 2) Reset after reconnecting mouse (using the above example): % xset mouse 200/10 1 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set acceleration to a sensitive value using `KDE Personal Settings' - say 200/10 1 2. Note mouse cursor while using the mouse. 3. Reconnect mouse, notice mouse movement is very slow. Speed appears to be similar to invoke `xset mouse default' Actual Results: Mouse cursor moves very slowly on a 1920x1600 display. Expected Results: When reconnecting the mouse, the current acceleration values should be used. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
