[Bug 617777] New: drivers:filesystems/reiser4-kmp: Enhancement
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=617777 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=617777#c0 Summary: drivers:filesystems/reiser4-kmp: Enhancement Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: 3rd party software AssignedTo: jeffm@novell.com ReportedBy: doiggl@velocitynet.com.au QAContact: opensuse-communityscreening@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Could this be consideredered for the future. I know this is still experimental now and reiser 4 is not in the kernel by default, but could the module be built so at least it could be tested on a test environment and the person using the module takes the responsibality that there are risks associated in using the module. The request is this: Update and produce a installable rpm module for reiser4-for-2.6.34.patch with the 2.6.34 kernel in opensuse build service. Perhaps this [1] could be used to build the updated module. [1] https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=reiser4-kmp&project=drivers%3Afilesystems Please indicate where the built reiser4-for-2.6.34 rpm is so it can be tested out. can you maintain it I think I could contribute the major parts so a working kernel with reiser4 added on. It could be kept in contrib.
This part I worry about. I would need guidance on how to allow Yast partitioner to cater for the reiser4 partition type and the ability to add, delete, resize the reiser4 partition. Question: Who would I contact about that part ? I would submit that to contrib as well. [a] http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/edward/reiser4/reiser4-for-2.6... [b] http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Contrib It would be nice to to use the testing process which Bernhard Wiedemann built to test the kernel and partitioning aspects http://openqa.opensuse.org/results/ What do you think ?
