Check the Broadcom's installation procedure. The wl module shall be visible by modprobe. If everything is correct the wl module shall be loaded automatically. What is the full path of the module hybrid_wl/wl.ko ?

--> load via modprobe lib80211; insmod hybrid_wl/wl.ko

In this case insmod works but the modprobe is preferred because it resolves modules dependences. Then it is not necessary to load the lib80211 manually. modprobe shall load all depending modules .

It would be unusual if Broadcom does not provide the procedure to install the module. Standard is to "make" the module and "make install" then. Would it be possible to send me the link to the Broadcom driver or attach the tarball.
