On the 10.3 the IDE disk is sda, the two SCSI disks are sd[bc]. In the 11.0 installation scenario the two SCSI disks are sd[ab] and the IDE disk is sdc. But their problems all look somewhat different. First, I have SCSI and IDE/PATA, #392086 talks about PATA and SATA. Second, my fstab already uses by-id to mount partitions including swap. Third, in my case I already have problems mounting the filesystems during the system update, not during grub installation.
