Are you using the latest official updates of the Xserver and intel driver package? What's the output of: rpm -q xf86-video-intel xorg-x11-server
xf86-video-intel-2.99.917-12.1.x86_64 xorg-x11-server-7.6_1.17.2-24.2.x86_64 No newer updates are available.(In reply to Egbert Eich from comment #4)
Please collect the Xserver log (with backtrace) and the output of 'dmesg' right after a crash - both need to be from the same crash.
The attached journal and Xserver logs are from the same crash. I will attach new 'dmesg' output and Xserver log, if the next crash occurs. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Thanks!
The attached journal and Xserver logs are from the same crash. I will attach new 'dmesg' output and Xserver log, if the next crash occurs.
Thanks! - journal logs are not really useful for exactly this purpose. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Pleas try the driver from:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/eeich:/Test:/Intel-NoDebug/ openSUSE_Tumbleweed/
and see if you still get crashes.
I had to re-compile the package because your package from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/eeich:/Test:/Intel-NoDebug/o... (I reported this bug for Leap 42.1) can't be installed without dependency warnings: $ zypper dup --from home_eeich_Test_Intel-NoDebug Loading repository data... Reading installed packages... Computing distribution upgrade... Problem: nothing provides X11_ABI_VIDEODRV = 20.0 needed by xf86-video-intel-2.99.917.590_g094924f-170.1.i586 Solution 1: deinstallation of xf86-video-intel-2.99.917-12.1.x86_64 Solution 2: install xf86-video-intel-2.99.917-7.1.x86_64 from excluded repository Solution 3: break xf86-video-intel-2.99.917.590_g094924f-170.1.i586 by ignoring some of its dependencies Choose from above solutions by number or cancel [1/2/3/c] (c): Now I have: $ rpm -q xf86-video-intel xf86-video-intel-2.99.917.590_g094924f-170.1.x86_64 And I wait for the next crash. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
