easiest solution would be to open software manager and click on dependencies on the menu bar. deselect install recommended packages.

next step is to right click on the package you wish to uninstall and remove it, then search for the package again, right click and select taboo

Wrong bug. Zypper still reinstalls programs and package that you deliberately removed unless: 1. You manually blacklist them after removing them 2. You invoke zypper with --no-recommends 3. The fact of the matter remains: this is something that I don't have to understand or care about in other distros. When I remove a package, it stays gone. I don't need to become an expert in how packages are grouped and stuctured. By default, a TW system installs many patterns. To solve the problem in the way you're suggesting, you have to already know that Patterns introduce this issue, and deliberately install in a different way. It's a usability problem.
