https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=341681#c6 Summary: Kontact Crash (SIGSEGV) Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i386 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: ragoddard@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Novell Technical Services NTS Priority: 800 Kontact crashes upon startup. Sorry I've been unresponsive. I don't think this needs L3ing. if you could install the debuginfo package for kdepim3 I should be able to zero in on the crash and give it my prompt attention.
I'm installing the debuginfo package for kdepim3 now. Unfortunately, in my frustration yesterday, I rebuilt my machine, so I'll have to wait until it crashes again to gather the stack trace. Interestingly enough, since using 'that other email client for gnome', I can launch and use Kontact without issue. However, I'll use it again as my primary client until it crashes (shouldn't be longer than a week). Setting NEEDINFO to me until it crashes. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Please try the test packages in ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/people/wstephenson/kdepim-enterprise-update-test
Testing now. I don't know how much of a true test this will be as I haven't had a crash since whacking my install. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Ping - still a problem?
Because of system changes (to OpenSuSE 11.0), and previous inability to test, let's close this out, Will. My previous testing appeared to confirm the fixes, however, I'm adding another colleague to the CC list who may have issues down the line. Closing RESOLVED for now. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
