[Bug 673622] New: [maintenance] glib2: Fix broken lookup for mime handler
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=673622 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=673622#c0 Summary: [maintenance] glib2: Fix broken lookup for mime handler Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Factory Platform: Other URL: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=642797 OS/Version: Other Status: NEEDINFO Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: vuntz@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: dimstar@opensuse.org InfoProvider: maintenance@opensuse.org Found By: --- Blocker: --- I found a nasty bug in glib2, where if a user has some explicitly configured handler for a generic mime type (say text/plain), all subtypes (eg: application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.spreadsheet) are open with this mime handler. A concrete example of the issue is that LibreOffice documents will be opened with the text/plain handler that was explicitly configured by the user (emacs, for example) instead of LibreOffice. See https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/62181 for the fix. Patch was sent upstream: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=642797 Since glib2 will trigger too many package rebuilds, coolo mentions it can't go in 11.4 GM. So I'm requesting a maintenance update for this. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
