No issue with resuming from S3 either.
The resume problem occurred was after I had been experimenting with XRandR when I was able to confirm that the original bug has been fixed. I have not been able to replicate it with the laptop running solo. I'm also getting these
I830DRI2FlipEventHandler: Pageflip completion has impossible msc ...
warnings in the logfile when running Solar Winds in fullscreen (test mode) but no crashes. This is also on a Inspiron 6400 with 945GM graphics and latest updates from Kernel:HEAD (kernel-pae-2.6.37-rc5.24.1.i586) and X11:XOrg.
Can reproduce easily here still. You mention "kernel-pae-2.6.37-rc5.24.1.i586" however the only comparable information I can see is "2.6.37-rc5-desktop". How do I find the comparable information on my laptop? Ok. Haven't tried it yet with a multi monitor setup. (In reply to comment #23)

Apparently you have installed kernel-desktop (behaviour shouldn't differ much, kernel-pae is useful for 32bit machines with more than 2GB RAM). Most likely the same version. Check with 'rpm -q kernel-desktop'. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The rpm query returns "kernel-desktop-2.6.37-rc5.23.1.i586". Shall I run "zypper dup -r Kernel:HEAD" again and see if I can still reproduce? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Sure, you can try.
It was worth the try. Can't reproduce the crash after updating to rc6.25.1. John -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

John, could you give it another try with openSUSE 11.4 final? Testing with a LiveCD should be sufficient. Thanks.
Hello Stefan, it all works perfectly as far as I can determine. Problem solved. Thank you for your efforts.
From what I have explored in openSUSE 11.4 it looks like an excellent release and intend to implement it very soon. :-)
