[Bug 788010] New: Installing gwenview causes other applications (e.g., Firefox) to lock up
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=788010 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=788010#c0 Summary: Installing gwenview causes other applications (e.g., Firefox) to lock up Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Factory Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: psychonaut@nothingisreal.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:16.0) Gecko/20121025 Firefox/16.0 SeaMonkey/2.13.2 I have a system with SeaMonkey 2.13.2-41.1 and Firefox 16.0.2-45.1 from the Updates repository. Both of these applications run fine under KDE. I then installed gwenview 4.6.0-6.11.1 from the Updates repository. After rebooting, SeaMonkey and Firefox no longer work correctly. Specifically, after clicking on certain UI widgets (all pull-down menus and some buttons) in the browser, it locks up completely, and must be manually killed. This problem also occurs when the browser is started in safe mode and with a fresh profile. Removing gwenview and rebooting fixes the problem. Possibly the problem has something to do with D-Bus. I noticed that after uninstalling gwenview, zypper reported a number of processes using the following deleted files: /lib64/libdbus-1.so.3.5.3 /bin/dbus-daemon Does this mean the gwenview RPM is actually modifying these files? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install gwenview. 2. Launch SeaMonkey or Firefox. Actual Results: 3. The browser locks up after clicking on certain UI elements. Expected Results: 3. The browser should not lock up. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
