[Bug 309295] New: No more automatic partitioning as a default
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=309295 Summary: No more automatic partitioning as a default Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 6 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: sfurdal@ehelp.pl QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- This is not a good idea to enable automatic formating/deleting/creating partitions using existing disks as a default. Most of the people install Linux/openSUSE under existing partitions and mostly they do not know how to change easly this, sometimes they just ignore this option and loose all data on the disk. opneSUSE instalator should just ask the user what to do: 1. Install openSUSE on a existing partition (DEFAULT) 2. Automatic Proposal 3. Advanced partitioning 1# without '/home' and 'swap partition' - just '/' and swap file! 2# the same as it is right now 3# Go to Partitioning tool :) seb -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
