From your experience: Do you think this could work? Or do you see any other solution?

It seems I don't have any luck. I tried to revert it to the old SPEC file, but for some unknown reason, the squiggle script doesn't work anymore. I get:
what about adding a small preinstall script which does "rm -rf /usr/share/batik" (or rename the directory and remove in postinstall iff installlation was successful, or similar...). I just got hit again by this bug when updating an old/slow server over night. it stopped at this bug after 7 hours (2200 of 3100 packages), now I have to wait another ~4 hours until that update is done and tests/fine tuning can start:-((( -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

How about using:
if [ 0${suse_version} -lt 1140 -a -d /usr/share/batik ]; then rm -rf /usr/share/batik fi
By intention used an if construct to ensure the script returns witch success.
This is not allowed in SUSE and our build check scripts (and delta rpms) will not be happy. Anyway there might be a solution - use hardling, instead of softlink http://www.mail-archive.com/atrpms-users@atrpms.net/msg07274.html -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
