'zypper up' prints. eek:/ # rpm -q opera opera-9.60-0.1 eek:/ # zypper -v up Verbosity: 1 Initializing Target Checking whether to refresh metadata for Main (DEBUG) Checking whether to refresh metadata for Main (NON-OSS) Checking whether to refresh metadata for Main updates Checking whether to refresh metadata for Main (OSS) Reading installed packages... The following NEW patch is going to be installed: opera-268.noarch (Main updates, maint-coord@suse.de) The following package is going to be REMOVED: opera-9.60-0.1.i586 (@System, SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, Nuernberg, Germany) After the operation, 19.5 M will be freed. Or it somehow was added to the "SoftLocks" list. Could you please check whether opera is mentioned in /var/lib/zypp/SoftLocks ?
Yes, opera was in that list, with other 199 packages. Moving this file away solved the problem. Is it safe to remove /var/lib/zypp/SoftLocks completely? /etc/zypp/locks is empty. Do you still need zypper.log?
