[Bug 779421] New: Virtualbox mouse integration doesn't work completely
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=779421 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=779421#c0 Summary: Virtualbox mouse integration doesn't work completely Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: volker3204@paradise.net.nz QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/534.34 (KHTML, like Gecko) konqueror/4.7.2 Safari/534.34 openSUSE 12.1 host, openSUSE 12.2 guest in virtualbox 4.1.22 rpm package from Oracle. 12.2 was installed in vbox 4.1.18, because of mouse problems update to 4.1.22 on host. Installed VB extension pack on host. Removed all virtualbox packages from guest, installed 4.1.22 from Oracle on guest, installed guest additions (no errors). Mouse integration (enabled by default) works mostly, but only with 3 buttons. No scroll wheel - i.e. doesn't work. Logitech mouse on host. Very annoyingly, when moving the mouse a little bit in the guest window to position something, like resizing a window, and keeping on moving the mouse slowly, the pointer randomly jumps to the guest window edge (I don't know where exactly, but it's the window edge probably along the top somewhere) while the pointer remains to be shown in the place it should be in. Moving the mouse another little bit makes the pointer action jump back to where it should be, and where the pointer is displayed in the guest window. This makes it just about unusable. Turning off mouse integration (vbox window, Machine menu entry) and capturing the mouse by the guest makes the mouse work in the guest as expected. Scroll wheel works, no more pointer action jumping. I am certain the same problem exists with the suse vbox packages but I didn't try. I am not interested in using the suse packages because they don't work (no ability to recompile kernel modules, required whenever there is a vbox version mismatch between host and guest, i.e. most of the time). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install virtualbox 4.1.22 from Oracle on some box, and install its extension pack. 2. Install oS 12.2 in vbox. 3. Use whatever guest addition you want in the guest. 4. Keep mouse integration enabled in guest. 5. Move mouse slowly to resize a window and keep moving it. Test scroll wheel. Actual Results: Scroll wheel doesn't work. Mouse pointer action randomly jumps to top window edge (pointer icon remains in place) and back again. nvidia drivers on host. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
