[Bug 393811] New: iwl3945 doesn't support LED
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=393811 Summary: iwl3945 doesn't support LED Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Factory Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: koenig@linux.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- the new iwl3945 driver no longer supportes the LED(s) so there is no information for the user if wlan is on/working/... the old ipw3945 did support the LED (using an IBM T60), so that's a clear step backwards from 10.3 to 11.0. using the compat-wireless driver adds LED support and works great for me -- please add/update !! more details in https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=376742#c14 and https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=376742#c18 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The iwl3945 driver in 10.3 failed the same way ;-)
but in 10.3 for my T60 th ipw driver was automatically selected and everything worked fine for me as user. I didn't even know about iwl3945 before starting 11.0 beta-tests. and now that ipw driver is gone (I still wonder why _now_)...
Nevertheless, having LED support would be nice.
compat-wireless-2008-05-22.tar.bz2 _is_ nice ;-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Intel does not support the ipw3945 driver anymore and iwl3945 is in the mainline kernel already. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
