Running /opt/kde3/bin/fate can also trigger this bug. Although, it is 100% reproducible with gnome-terminal. Still getting this error in Xorg.0.log after the screen corruption happens from launching FATE or creating a gnome-terminal window from a tab. [ 274.933] [mi] EQ overflowing. The server is probably stuck in an infinite loop. The machine is still accessible via ssh after this point and killing Xorg and restarting xdm gets me a working session again. Debugging steps taken --------------------- Upgraded to 2.6.36-rc8-34-default to see if it is a Kernel issue and it still reproduces as before. After upgrading to the latest code available in openSUSE Factory I can no longer reproduce this issue. I am guessing this was fixed upstream. I will reopen if I run into issues again.
