It seems there is a bug in libxslt (see above). It worked with the libxslt version from 10.2 but not with the version from 10.3 (1.1.20). I tried it with the version from SVN r1428 but it doesn't work too. Could you have a look at it, please? This does not seem like valid XML to me ...
Sorry, but I disagree. :-) Lets see: 1. bookinfo. According to the TDG (http://www.docbook.org/tdg/en/html/bookinfo.html) this elements allows lots of child elements. One of this is pubdate. From a structural issue this is valid. 2. The content of pubdate. It is a processing instruction, see http://www.w3.org/TR/2006/REC-xml-20060816/#sec-pi So this is a perfectly valid XML. :-) All this tends to a bug in xmllint or xsltproc. In my productive system I run libxml2-2.6.26-0.1 and libxslt-1.1.17-25.1 without problems. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=278173 ------- Comment #7 from thomas.schraitle@novell.com 2007-05-30 03:09 MST ------- Another addition that might help: When I add a space inside the PI it works: * <?dbtimestamp?> doesn't work * <?dbtimestamp ?> works I looked into the production of the PI: [16] PI ::= '<?' PITarget (S (Char* - (Char* '?>' Char*)))? '?>' S means a space, so both versions of the above PIs are valid. I suspect there is something fishy with the processing instruction tokenizer. Are there any unit tests in one of libxml2 or libxslt for this issue? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=278173 ------- Comment #9 from thomas.schraitle@novell.com 2007-05-30 05:10 MST ------- Thanks for your efforts, Pavol. :-) The libxml2-test package seems to have just a TODO file. JFYI: I thought more investigation could be helpful, therfore I checked out the libxml2 sources from SVN. See http://svn.gnome.org/svn/libxml2/trunk. After running autoconf.sh etc. I found out I can run unit tests with "make tests". Apart from the W3C Schema tests it seems everything works. However, I think there might be something missing, especially a more exhaustive test(s) for PIs. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

The libxml2-test package seems to have just a TODO file.
libxml2-test is meant to run the tests in autobuild, it is not meant as an installable package. I did not enable the "make test" or "make check" target as part of the libxml2 main package because some tests are at times fishy and some false positives are not properly handled (IIRC). This is just FYI ;) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
