I also noticed that this actually doesn't happen always. It seems to happen only at some locations (might be some weird AP<->wifi interaction).
I'm encountering the same problem. Using iwlagn, wpa_supplicant hangs for a few
seconds when the router changes the wpa key. During this time, no network
connection is existing. Setting "key lifetime" in the router configuration to a
long period, e.g. 60 min, reduces the problem. System: Opensuse 12.1,
wpa_supplicant v0.7.3.

Is this still reproducible with latest kernel. Like from kernel:head or kernel:stable: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/HEAD/standard/ http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/stable/standard/ ?
If so, I suggest to report this on intel wireless (ilw@linux.intel.com) and linux wireless (linux-wireless@vger.kernel.org) lists.
Running kernel 3.1.9-1.4, the problem described in #5 does not occur anymore, even without using the workaround "swcrypto=1" provided by #10. Standard configuration seems to be o.k. now! -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

So it means the latest kernel of open SUSE 12.1 has already fixed it, right ? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Does it still happen ?
Sorry, can't help. Moved on to Suse 12.2 which uses iwlwifi instead of iwlagn. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
