[Bug 246770] New: Impossible to browse added share
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=246770 Summary: Impossible to browse added share Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: 64bit OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Blocker Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: monkey9@iae.nl QAContact: qa@suse.de When i configured the network, (lan) i was able to browse all the shares i added at that time. The network interface was put in the internal zone, Config to owner, guestlogon permitted, to be able to browse, this is not allright i think. Today i needed to add another share, but i allways get the message that the directory does not exist, while i can see the plug that the dir is shared. I am not glad to have to shut off the firewall to be able to browse my lan. The logon manager from the firewall does not work, so i have to shut off the firewall... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=246770 ------- Comment #5 from monkey9@iae.nl 2007-02-25 09:04 MST ------- Found the problem: Shares created with Yast work fine, but shares created with the Personal Settings manager from KDE do not. The following lines are added with the Personal Setting manager from KDE which are not added when using Yast. case sensitive = no strict locking = no msdfs proxy = no When these lines are commented out, everything works fine. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=246770 ------- Comment #6 from monkey9@iae.nl 2007-02-26 04:01 MST ------- Something about the compatability is not all right. This morning i deleted a share that was made yesterday to make sure everything worked, but was not nessesary anymore. I deleted this share with the YaST module. After I did this, the network was invisible. When i listed the shares, i got the message: monkey9@tribal-sfn2:~> smbclient -L//tribal-sfn2 Password: Domain=[TRIBAL-SFN2] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 3.0.23d-19.2-1179-SUSE-SL10.2] tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_BAD_NETWORK_NAME monkey9@tribal-sfn2:~> Only thing i did was removin a shared dir.... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=246770 ------- Comment #7 from monkey9@iae.nl 2007-02-28 07:08 MST ------- i've activated swat, and used testparm to see if the smb.conf is allright. All seems to be perfectly allright. When i want to enter the shares and use conqueror to browse the Lan, nothing appears, and sometimes i get the message that no workgroup is found, and that it could be caused by a running firewall... But the interface is put in the internal zone, that has all ports open by default.. A networkfolder, that was created earlier does work.... Where should i go to change this: tree connect failed: NT_STATUS_BAD_NETWORK_NAME -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
