[Bug 277436] New: Realtek RTL8111/8168B on Asus P5B does not work
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=277436 Summary: Realtek RTL8111/8168B on Asus P5B does not work Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: ma2412ma@hotmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de I've installed a fresh copy of openSUSE 10.2 on a PC with an Asus P5B mainboard. Everything's working just fine except for the network interface (the board features a Realtek RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit NIC). The interface is correctly recognized and I've configured it (ifconfig is showing the correct settings, and the interface is shown with the correct hardware address). The kernel module r8169 is used. However, the interface is not working, because I'm not able to establish a connection to the network. I don't even know how to pin down the error because everything _seems_ to be OK, but in fact it's not working at all. I've tried Knoppix and Ubuntu as well, but experienced exactly the same problem. I've also tried to use the module r1000 (built an RPM using the SRPM from http://software.opensuse.org/download/drivers:/nic/SUSE_Linux_10.1/src/r1000...), but it didn't work either. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
