1)# cat /proc/swaps Filename Type Size Used Priority /dev/dm-3 partition 2039804 0 -1
According to this, the swap is actually activated.
2)# swapon -a -v [SNIP] swapon: /dev/mapper/system-swap: swapon failed: Das Gerät oder die Ressource ist belegt
So the problem is that subsequent calls to 'swapon -a' does not recognize that the swap is already activated (because there is /dev/dm-3 in /proc/swaps, but swapon is calling swap(2) with /dev/mapper/system-swap, which is - unless I'm mistaken [*] - symlink to /dev/dm-3). [*] Could you please verify this by 'ls -la /dev/mapper/system-swap' ? According to this, the swap is actually activated.
What means activated? Does swap work and the message of the init script is only a cosmetic problem, or does it mean it could be used but something went wrong before mounting swap? # ls -la /dev/mapper/system-swap lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 7 10. Yes, exactly that - the swap works.
# ls -la /dev/mapper/system-swap

OK, thanks for verification - it is really the problem described in comment #3. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
