Did your system work with LInux or openSUSE before using the network card?
Yes. 10.* to 12.1 milestones, most of the net x86_64 builds, Ubuntu, Sabayon, Fedora, Debian. Linuxes especially opensuse seem to really like my PC.
Go to the text console with ctrl-alt-f2 and enter please:
ctrl-alt-F2 doesn't do anything but ctrl-alt-F9 does get me a console where I can direct the commands to a writable SD as isohybrid/imagewriter process makes the USB medium read only. BTW. consoles 3 and 4 are locked so to speak logging data which I gather has not been written.
ifconfig eth0 hwinfo --netcard
And then write the output here.
ifconfig eth0: eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 1C:6F:65:AA:C1:63 BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b) Interrupt:49 Base address:0xc000 hwinfo --netcard 39: PCI 600.0: 0200 Ethernet controller [Created at pci.319] Unique ID: rBUF.5rbhBgx50x4 Parent ID: I+Ba.k8kP4VdaZm3 SysFS ID: /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:15.1/0000:06:00.0 SysFS BusID: 0000:06:00.0 Hardware Class: network Model: "Realtek RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller" Vendor: pci 0x10ec "Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd."
