I installed opensuse 13.2 with all patches during christmas and wondered why my events from akonadi are not pulled into the events view even though it was enabled. Installing 'kdebase4-workspace-plasma-calendar' solved this issue for me. (I got pointed to it in the KDE bugzilla: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=342511) I wonder why it was not pulled in in the first place. It has already been identified what the reasoning behind this change was and that restoring the pre-2011 situation would cause that the whole akonadi framework would be pulled in. Whether you are using Akonadi/KDEPIM or not, it would be there. This was a huge complaint before as that a lot of people didn't want to have the akonadi framework installed & running on their systems. A bugfix was submitted to Factory so that we would have the situation where an update with YaST would cause this package to be shown as "To be installed", but still it would be possible for the user to deselect it.
