http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=845634 --- Comment #5 from Anssi Lautjärvi --- I made some additional research, I tried updating the firmware of the Optiarc DVD-RW drive from original version 1.42 to Liggy's and Dee's version 1.W2. To be able to do this, I installed Win XP (overwriting OpenSUSE) as, needless to say, I am not able to update the firmware of a device if the OS does not detect it. Curiously enough, after the firmware update BIOS recognizes the drive as "Sony DVD RW AW-G540A-(PM)". Still, both BIOS and Win XP run the DVD-RW drive perfectly.
