[Bug 291372] New: SaX2 only offers 800x600 and 1024x768 resolutions
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=291372 Summary: SaX2 only offers 800x600 and 1024x768 resolutions Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 5 Platform: 32bit OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: SaX2 AssignedTo: ms@novell.com ReportedBy: receive-spam@yandex.ru QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- I have installed 10.3 Alpha5 (standart system with KDE) to my laptop. The problem is that when I launch SaX2 (either from console or from graphical login, it doesn't matter), it only allows me to set display resolution to 800x600 or 1024x768. "Native" resolution of LCD screen is 1400x1050, I had selected this resolution during installation on "hardware configuration" stage, and it was successfully set. The problem is that when I change something in SaX, it cannot keep this resolution. When I try to accept configuration proposed by SaX, things become nasty: screen resolution remains 1400x1050, but picture of size 1024 by 768 occupies top-left or top-right corner, the rest of screen is filled with garbage. Image of mouse cursor only moves within 1024 by 768 area in bottom-right corner of the screen. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Additionally please try to use the latest version from here: http://ftp.opensuse.org/pub/opensuse/repositories/SaX2/SL10.3/
Thank you, this version does not have described problem. But there is another one. Upon start-up it shows a dialog box "Software installation: Some packages are missing. Install the missing packages now? [Yes/No]" No matter what I press, it then says that my graphics card/driver does not support 3D subsystem, and "Activate 3D acceleration" check-box is disabled. And, by the way, these packages require libstdc++.so.6(GLIBCXX_3.4.9) while libstdc++ even from SL-OSS-factory or http://ftp.opensuse.org/pub/opensuse/repositories/Base:/install/standard/ provides only libstdc++.so.6(GLIBCXX_3.4.8) so I had to install them with --nodeps. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
