All my computers (currently 4) operate correctly now when issuing "yast2" on a su'ed commandline. I do not know what did this and it is hard for me to compare the stati of all those devices, but nevertheless, the issue vanished somehow. I thought I can reproduce on one of my systems, but no - currently they're all working. Thank you for looking into this, I'll surely keep you informed if this should happen again, but close for now.
